Tom is a Chartered Surveyor and has been a Director of Square Bay for over 13 years as well as a Partner in many of their projects. Square Bay sources, acquires and facilitates the regeneration of land and buildings nationally and has obtained planning permission for several thousand homes, hundreds of care and extra care units and over 1m sq ft of commercial space.

Land and planning is at the core of Tom’s skill set. He has acquired and managed Square Bay’s many and varied schemes throughout the South West and most recently led their largest acquisition to date, the 10.5 acre site on Silverthorne Lane, Bristol. Following a Public Inquiry, Silverthorne Lane was granted planning permission by the Secretary of State in April 2022. The scheme delivers a mix of uses including residential, student accommodation, offices, research and development for the University of Bristol and a 1,600-pupil secondary school.

Tom has been involved in numerous land transactions, over the years, completing agreements with many national and SME housebuilders, local authorities, pension funds, government departments, public bodies, universities and private landowners.
