FAQs for the Bristol Planning Law and Policy Conference and Dinner

Day Conference

​

• When and where is this year’s conference?

​

This year’s conference will be held at Ashton Gate on 16 May 2024.

 

• What time does the conference start?

​

Registration to the conference opens at 08:45, and the conference will start at 09:15.​

 

• Are refreshments and lunch included at the day conference?

​

Yes, refreshments and lunch will be provided to registered delegates.

 

• Can I view speaker presentations after the conference?

​

Please view the webpage for all speaker biographies and presentations (please allow up to 2 weeks after the conference date for presentations to be uploaded to the conference webpage).

 

• I can no longer attend, can my colleague attend in my place? 

​

Yes, please email bplpconference@uwe.ac.uk to notify the Conference Team a minimum of 7 days prior to the conference date, including contact details of your colleague.

We are unable to transfer registration to multiple colleagues wishing to attend at different times of the day.

We are unable to guarantee dietary requirements will be met for replacement attendees, within two weeks of the event date.

 

• I do not wish to appear in any conference photographs, who do I notify?

​

You will have the option to opt-out of photographs at the registration (payment) stage. However, please also notify a member of the Conference Team on the registration desk, on the day.

 

Conference dinner

​

• How do I book a table at the conference dinner?

​

First you will need to register your interest in booking a table or half table at the conference dinner. We will then be in touch to confirm if you have been allocated a table/half table and given the opportunity to finalise the booking and payment.

 

• How do I register my interest in booking a table at the conference dinner?

​

All mailing list contacts will be informed of the date and time the expression of interest form will go live on the conference website. Sign-up to the mailing list to ensure you will receive a notification.

 

• Can I complete the expression of interest form more than once?

​

No, we only accept one expression of interest per company. Any duplicate expressions of interest will be removed, the first expression of interest received will be retained.

 

• When does the expression of interest open for tables to the conference dinner?

​

The date will be included on the conference website and mailing list contacts will be notified.

 

• When will I be notified if my application for a conference table has been accepted and what is the deadline for payment?

​

The person who registered the expression of interest will be notified by email, and you will have a two-week period to complete payment.

 

• How are tables allocated?

​

Tables are allocated on a first come first served basis, in the order in which registrations of interest are received. The number of tables is limited and in previous years the number of companies registering their interest exceeds the number of tables available.

 

• What is the dress code for the conference dinner?

​

The dress code is black tie.

 

• When does the drinks reception start?

​

The drinks reception starts at 18:45, followed by a call to dinner, and guests are to be seated by 19:30.

 

• What time does the dinner start?

​

All guests are expected to be seated by 19:30.

 

• Can I pre-order drinks for my table?

​

Half a bottle of wine is provided per person on each table and further drinks can be purchased from the bars.

 

• When are ‘last orders’ at the bar?

​

Last orders will be called by the venue at 00:30 and the conference dinner ends at 01:00, followed promptly by carriages.

​

• Will transport be provided after the conference dinner?

• Can I notify the Conference Team of changes to dietary requirements on my table?

​

Dietary requirements registered beyond the deadline cannot be guaranteed and are subject to the venue’s acceptance.
