Sasha specialises in all areas of Planning, Local Government and Judicial Review. Over the past 15 years, he has appeared in more than 250 planning public inquiries and has represented clients in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court on over 50 occasions. In 2024, he was named Legal 500 Planning Silk of the Year.
Sasha joined the Bar in 1991 and gained tenancy in 1993 in the Chambers of Lionel Read. He has practised from the same chambers for more than 30 years and took silk in 2013. He has acted for many of the UK’s leading solicitors, planning consultants and developers.
In the past five years, Sasha has:

Represented the local planning authority in the Westferry call‑in inquiry and subsequent High Court proceedings

Acted for developers in securing permission for 400 homes in the Green Belt at Little Chalfont

Represented developers at the B&Q Cricklewood call‑in inquiry for 1,000 homes

Acted for developers at the Bury St Edmunds inquiry for 1,300 homes

Represented the developer in securing planning permission in the Marlow Film Studios inquiry.
