Head of Land and Planning, Verto Homes
Andy West is the Head of Land and Planning for Verto, a multi award winning housebuilder who deliver Zero-Carbon Smart Homes across the south-west of England.
With over 15 years’ experience in both Local Authorities and the private sector, including enforcing planning controls and policy within a National Park, he is currently the project lead on Verto’s Penvose Zero-Carbon Student Village project.
This will be the company’s first foray into PBSA development, which once approved will be the world’s first Zero Carbon Student Village. It will not only deliver 1,858 student bedspaces and a variety of commercial, leisure and sports facilities for use by both students and members of the wider community in buildings which have no carbon emissions, but will also offset all of the embodied carbon created during the construction process.
Alongside this Application Andy also manages the planning submissions related to Verto’s housing developments as well as a team searching for immediate, medium term and strategic land opportunities to further Verto’s growth agenda and its ethos of “Fighting for Zero Carbon on the Home Front”.
