Having spent 10 years with Bristol City Council, Patrick recently joined Bristol based Calibro as a Principal Flood Risk Consultant whilst retaining his position on the University of West of England’s Civil and Environmental Industrial Advisory Board. During his time with the Council, Patrick led the Flood Risk and Data Management team where he played a pivotal role in bringing forward key flood schemes in Avonmouth and the Bristol Avon Flood Strategy - helping to address the threat of rising sea levels and flood risk to the city.

Patrick has always been a strong advocate for cooperative working between the Council and developers, recognising the potential social and environmental gains this can deliver, whilst promoting commercially deliverable and climate resilient regeneration of the city.  Patrick’s approach was key to the emerging Bedminster Green River Restoration where the Council are developing plans to restore the River Malago as it flows through a priority regeneration area, and Patrick has also appeared as an expert witness for the Council at the recent Silverthorne Lane regeneration Inquiry.

In joining Calibro, Patrick is applying his passion for sustainable methods of flood management with like-minded colleagues to integrate his ideas within private-sector led projects under a common agenda of sustainable growth.
